Does your Bluetooth helmet work normally with your phone, but stop playing music, navigation prompts, or phone calls after connecting to your Carpuride motorcycle CarPlay display?
Don't assume your device is faulty just yet. The issue may be related to the audio output mode, Bluetooth connections, or volume settings.
Follow these steps to identify the problem and find the right solution.
Before troubleshooting, park your motorcycle in a safe location. Never adjust device settings while riding.
Step 1: Check Whether Your Phone Can Play Audio Through the Helmet
First, disconnect your phone from the Carpuride display while keeping your Bluetooth helmet connected to your phone.
Play a song and make sure the volume on both devices is turned up.
- If there is still no sound: Check the helmet's battery, Bluetooth connection, and volume. Restart your phone and helmet if necessary, then reconnect them and test again.
- If the sound works normally: Your phone and helmet can communicate successfully on their own. Continue to the next step to check what changes when CarPlay is connected.
This simple test helps narrow down the cause before you change any settings.
Step 2: Check the Audio Output Mode and Bluetooth Connection
This is one of the most important steps in troubleshooting.
Different Carpuride models may support different audio output modes and connection methods. Some route audio from the phone directly to the Bluetooth helmet, while others may support audio transmission from the display to the helmet.
The correct setup depends on your specific model.
Mode 1: iPlay/Auto Mode — Transferring Audio from Your Phone to Your Bluetooth Helmet
In iPlay/Auto Mode, your Bluetooth helmet must connect to your phone so that audio is transmitted directly from the phone to the helmet. At the same time, your phone connects to the Carpuride screen to use Apple CarPlay.
Follow these steps to check your Bluetooth helmet connection:
- Connect your Bluetooth helmet to your phone. Pair the helmet with your phone via Bluetooth.
- Connect your phone to the Carpuride screen. Make sure Apple CarPlay is working properly.
- Check the Bluetooth connections. Ensure that the helmet is connected only to your phone, not to the Carpuride screen.
- Disconnect the helmet from the Carpuride screen if necessary. If the helmet is already paired with the screen, disconnect its Bluetooth connection to ensure that it remains connected only to your phone.
- Test the audio. Play music and check whether navigation voice prompts can be heard through your Bluetooth helmet.
Important: In iPlay/Auto Mode, the correct connection setup is:
Bluetooth helmet → Phone → Carpuride screen (for CarPlay).
The Bluetooth helmet must not be connected to both the phone and the Carpuride screen at the same time.
Mode 2: BT Trans Mode — Transferring Audio from the Carpuride Screen to Your Bluetooth Helmet
In BT Trans Mode, your phone connects to the Carpuride screen to use Apple CarPlay, and the screen transmits audio to your Bluetooth helmet via Bluetooth.
Follow these steps to check your Bluetooth helmet connection:
- Put your Bluetooth helmet into pairing mode. Turn on the helmet and make sure it is ready to pair with another device.
- Select BT Trans Mode on the Carpuride screen. Make sure your device supports this audio mode.
- Pair your Bluetooth helmet with the Carpuride screen. Connect the helmet to the screen via Bluetooth.
- Disconnect the helmet from your phone if necessary. Ensure that the helmet is connected only to the Carpuride screen, not to your phone.
- Check the CarPlay connection and test the audio. Confirm that your phone is connected to the Carpuride screen, then play music and test the navigation voice prompts through your helmet.
Important: In BT Trans Mode, the correct connection setup is:
Phone → Carpuride screen → Bluetooth helmet (for audio).
The Bluetooth helmet must not be connected to both the phone and the Carpuride screen at the same time.
Note: The available audio modes and settings may vary by Carpuride model. Please check which modes your device supports before following these instructions.
Step 3: Check the Volume and Audio Output Settings
If the connection appears correct but there is still no sound, check the following:
- Phone volume: Increase the volume while music is playing.
- Helmet volume: Make sure the helmet is not muted and its volume is set appropriately.
- Carpuride audio settings: If your model provides separate volume controls, check the relevant music, voice, or call volume.
- Phone audio output: On an iPhone, open Control Center while music is playing and check the available audio output devices. If the helmet appears in the list, try selecting it.
The available audio output options depend on the phone, connection method, and Carpuride model. If the helmet does not appear as an available output, return to the audio connection checks rather than repeatedly changing unrelated settings.
Step 4: Troubleshoot Based on the Type of Sound Missing
No Sound From Music, Navigation, or Phone Calls
If all audio is missing, focus on the overall connection:
- Confirm that the selected audio mode is supported by your Carpuride model.
- Check whether the helmet is connected to the correct device for that mode.
- Check the phone, helmet, and display volume where applicable.
- Make sure the helmet is not connected to multiple devices in a way that conflicts with the selected audio setup.
Music Works, but Navigation Prompts Are Silent
If music plays normally but navigation instructions are missing:
- Check whether voice guidance is enabled in your navigation app.
- Make sure navigation audio is not muted.
- Increase the volume while a navigation prompt is actively playing.
- Check the Carpuride voice volume settings if your model provides this option.
Music Works, but Phone Calls Have No Sound
If music works but calls are silent, test a call while safely parked.
- Check whether the call's audio output is set to the correct device.
- Confirm that the helmet supports the call audio functions required by your connection method.
- Check whether the selected Bluetooth connection supports call audio, as some devices handle media and phone calls differently.
If only calls are affected, focus on the call audio connection instead of changing the entire audio setup.
Step 5: Restart and Reconnect Your Devices
If the problem persists after checking the audio mode, Bluetooth connections, and volume, try the following:
- Disconnect CarPlay.
- Restart your phone, Carpuride display, and Bluetooth helmet.
- Re-establish the supported audio connection.
- Reconnect CarPlay and test music, navigation, and phone calls.
If the issue remains, remove the relevant Bluetooth pairing records and pair the devices again as needed.
Before deleting an existing pairing, make sure you know how to put your helmet into pairing mode. Avoid deleting unrelated connections or performing a factory reset unless necessary.
Changing the connection order may be worth testing, but there is no single connection sequence that applies to every model. The correct audio mode and connection setup are more important.
Still No Sound? Contact Carpuride Support
If the issue persists after completing these steps, contact Carpuride Support and provide the following information to help identify the cause more quickly:
- Your complete Carpuride model number and software version. You can find the software version under Settings → System on the device.
- Your phone model and operating system version.
- Your Bluetooth helmet brand and model.
- A description of the issue: no sound at all, or only music, navigation, or phone calls are affected.
- Whether the helmet plays music normally when connected directly to the phone without CarPlay.
- A photo of the Carpuride audio settings screen, if available.
These details will help the support team determine whether the issue is related to audio routing, Bluetooth pairing, device compatibility, or another setting.
Quick Recap
Start by checking whether your phone and helmet work normally without CarPlay. If they do, focus on the audio output mode and make sure the helmet is connected to the correct device.
Next, check the volume and identify whether the issue affects all audio or only music, navigation, or phone calls. Restart and re-pair the devices only if necessary.
Following this order can help you avoid unnecessary changes and identify the cause more efficiently.
